ALDEIA TAPAI

At the beginning there were no trees, nor animals, nor rivers.

The Sun (Mbu-di) invited the Moon (Mbudvrà-ré) to descend to the Earth. They walked around the world and created the plants, the animals, the rivers. The Sun made an Aldeia (the Indian's village) and a garden, and planted gourds in it. When the gourds matured, they took them to the river, threw them in the water and from each of them were born the first Indians of the Aldeia.

Right after, the Shamans of all the Aldeias got together in a sacred place of the Aldeia and created a ritual called "TAPAI". The ritual takes place when the Shamans light their pipes with magical herbs and begin to dance at rhythmical steps, faster and faster, following the pace of the shaking gourds and the mystic songs... Until the voice of the oldest Shaman is heard, evoking Tupã, begging to make return Peace, Happiness and Union of all the tribes of the Cosmos.
